KASL Music

we are KASL

CRL was featured on the music + storytelling podcast East Side Storytellin' brought to you from the awesome folks at East Side Story in East Nashville! She shared three short stories included "Hunter's Moon" from our book We Are KASL: lyrics + stories. Check out the episode here and get yourself a copy of our book

The ladies of KASL (Alissa Moreno and Casey Renee LeVasseur) got to jump on the air with KDUB's Kevin William's last week to talk about The Beat of Life and all things KASL. The Beat of Life is a Nashville-based Music-centered non-profit. The organization creates programs for hurting populations, pairing participants with songwriters that help them tell their stories.

KASL is a huge supporter of The Beat of Life. In fact we all volunteer for the organization's various programs. Including their Prison based program (Redemption Songs), their Mental Health program (Beautiful Minds) and their Anti-Bullying program (Sing-it-to-Stop-it).

We were so honored to be asked to speak about our experiences on show. Host, Kevin Williams, also played our song "Broken Parts" on air during the segment. The song voices a message of hope, strength and redemption which are important aspects of The Beat of Life's work and mission.

Thanks for having us Kevin and KDUB and for joining us in supporting the hurting!

What a trip! The KASL crew spent a couple weeks out in LA writing and performing. LA has been home to all of us and it was so good to be home and soak it all up for a while. Thanks to everyone the helped make it a magical adventure. Can't wait for the next one!

KASL will be performing an acoustic round at The Listening Room in Nashville, TN on May 12th at 8:30pm. The show will highlight songs + stories from their upcoming book release We Are KASL: Lyrics + Stories. The book will be available for pre-order at the show.

We are lovers of liner notes. We each grew up, on other ends of the country, thumbing through the liner notes to our favorite records. Memorizing lyrics and falling in love with music. This is KASL's version of liner notes. Our songs + companion stories to take you into a different world.

The books are coming soon and will be available online via our website, on Amazon, as well as at upcoming shows.

Hunter's Moon has been selected by the Nashville Film Festival Song Competition as a top song for the annual song competition.

The song was born on a balcony over looking the city and it came in one of those waves that you just ride. You don't know where it's taking you, but you like where you're going. We're thrilled the festival loved the song!

We're heading back to the West Coast! KASL will be in LA for the Durango Songwriters Expo Film/TV conference and will be performing at The Hotel Cafe on May 24th. We can't wait to see your beautiful faces. Tickets are on sale now!

KASL has been tapped to perform at the annual YMCA Songwriters Night in support of the Y's community service and outreach. The monies raised will help support the Y's efforts to foster and nurture the local community with programs that help at-risk youth, cancer survivors and much more. Tickets are on sale now for this evening.
